With arthrosis, degenerative-distrophic changes develop, resulting in deformation and destruction of articular tissue. Let's take a closer look at the extent of the disease, what the symptoms are, what diet to follow, and also how the treatment of hip joint arthrosis is carried out.
Why this disease develops
Arthrosis develops because of a situation like this:
- When a joint is injured;
- The person is overweight;
- Hip joints suffer from excessive stress due to the uniqueness of work;
- Congenital defects in joints;
- When joints become inflamed;
- When hormonal changes occur in the body;
- When bones are destroyed.
Symptoms of articular arthrosis
Symptoms of hip joint arthrosis vary for each stage of the disease:
- In first-degree arthrosis, recurrent pain in the hip joint appears after physical exercise. After resting, they quickly disappear;
- With second stage arthrosis, the pain increases and becomes systematic. Someone drowned while walking. The muscles responsible for the function of the thigh motor become weak. Sometimes x-rays can detect the appearance of cysts in the joint area;
- In third-degree arthrosis, the patient feels severe pain in the joint even when lying down. He cannot walk without a cane. The joints do not work. The way of walking is very different.
To understand the extent of the disease, the doctor must perform a thorough examination of the patient and schedule an X-ray. You will also need to do an ultrasound on the affected joint and arthroscopy.
What is deformed arthrosis
In addition to common arthrosis, deformed hip joint arthrosis, which in other words is also called coxarthrosis, is also common. Articular cartilage becomes thinner due to overuse and loss of function.
Coxarthrosis of the hip joint develops as well as arthrosis due to injury, microcrats, joint excess, overweight, prolonged stress, hormonal disorders, articular inflammation, congenital anomalies of the femoral head.
Treatment of hip joint disease
After carefully examining patients and research results, experienced specialists understand how to treat hip joint arthrosis.

With conservative therapy, it is important to relieve pain, improve joint mobility, improve cartilage nutrition, reduce pressure on the joints, activate blood circulation in them, and strengthen the surrounding tissues and muscles.
Treatment of arthrosis of the hip joint with medication is based on the intake of vasodilators, muscle relaxers, chondoprotectors, as well as the use of ointments, gels or creams.
In addition, first-degree arthrosis is treated with manual therapy, herbal medicine, physiotherapy, reflexology and gymnastics.
When third-degree arthrosis is found in patients, surgery is performed, in which the joint is replaced with endoprosthesis. In this operation, a prosthesis is implanted into the femur and pelvis. After surgery, the patient will need a long recovery time.
Important thing!Treatment of arthrosis of the hip joint in the first and second degree should be comprehensive. Any method of treatment will not bring the expected results.
It is useful for massaging joint pain. Massage is recommended after complete removal of the acute pain sensation. After surgery, massage therapy can only be done after removing the suture. In this case, massage can only be performed by a specialist, independent action is strictly contraindicated.
Traditional medicine in the treatment of arthrosis
In the early stages of arthrosis, it is important to restore joint motor function, and also try to load it as little as possible. It is necessary to treat arthrosis with folk remedies under the supervision of a doctor, be sure to consider the characteristics of the disease.
Treatment of arthrosis with folk remedies:
- Pour boiling water over the hogweed leaves and wrap with cheesecloth cloth. Refrigerated plants are applied to diseased joints;
- Make compresses alternately from white and blue clay. To do this, the clay needs to be slightly diluted with water and to achieve a uniform consistency, in which the sore joints are lubricated. Wrap the top with foil and a warm cloth. Take care all night. Silk is washed;
- To increase the production of intra-articular fluid and activate the recovery process, it is useful to perform therapeutic massage with honey. For such treatment with folk remedies, honey is heated and diluted in a water bath. The joint itself is heated with a heating pad. Honey is rubbed in a circular motion. The duration of the massage is not more than 15 minutes. After the procedure, the joints are wrapped in gauze in four layers and covered with a cloth for three hours. After a while, the honey must be washed with warm water. The course of treatment is 10 times. The first three sequences are performed daily, and the next daily;

Prevention of arthrosis
Any disease is better prevented than treated. Therefore, it is recommended to take preventive measures that will help prevent the development of arthrosis:
- Newborns should be carefully examined by an orthopedic or surgeon. As the more congenital hip dislocation is detected, the faster and more efficient it can be cured;
- At the first sign of the disease, it is important to see a doctor immediately and undergo all examinations to diagnose arthrosis as early as possible and begin treatment;
